Q: Is Garmin Run Asia 2022 Series - Malaysia Marathon a physical or virtual event?
A: Garmin Run Asia 2022 Series - Malaysia Marathon is a hybrid event. The physical event will be held on 11 September 2022, whereas the virtual run will be from 1 – 30 September 2022.
Q: If I register for the physical run, do I still need to submit my run result on my Heyjom Dashboard?
A: No, only participants who registered for the virtual run are required to submit their results via Heyjom.
Q: What is the flag off time?
A: The flag off time will be announced upon approval by the authorities.
Q: What happens if I could not complete my run within the qualifying time?
A: All registrants must complete their run within the qualifying time. There are 4 different distance categories to choose from and each category has a different qualifying time, so ensure to choose wisely which category fits your pace best.
Q: I have my own insurance, so do I still need to purchase the Group Personal Accident Insurance from the event?
A: Yes, it is compulsory to purchase the Group Personal Accident Insurance (this is set by the Sports Commissioner Office of Malaysia)
Q: Can I register for both individual and team categories?
A: Only one category per participant is allowed. You may join the event as individual or as a team, each participant will get his/her individual bib.
Q: Can members of a team register for different categories?
A: Yes, members of a team can register for different categories.
Q: Can I change my distance or category after I have completed my registration?
A: Unfortunately, you are not allowed to change your distance or category upon completing your registration.
Q: How do I know if my registration is successful?
A: Upon completion of registration, you will see a ‘success’ message on your screen and receive a confirmation email as well.
Q: I have registered but did not receive my confirmation email. What should I do?
A: If you did not receive your confirmation email, please check your spam, junk, promotions and social folders, or any other tabs in your inbox. If it is not there, please email info@heyjom.com with your full name, IC / passport number and email address used for registration. Alternatively, you may also view your event on your Heyjom dashboard.
Q: Do I need to do a COVID-19 test before attending the event?
A: It is not compulsory, but to keep yourself and others safe, you are encouraged to do a self-test before participating in the event.
Q: Do I need to be fully-vaccinated to participate in the event?
A: Yes, you must be fully-vaccinated to participate in the event. Proof of vaccination will be required on the event day.
Q: Do I get a refund if I choose not to participate after completing my registration?
A: No. Registration fees are strictly non-refundable.
Virtual Run
Q: How do I submit my result?
A: To submit your results, go to your Dashboard on Heyjom mobile app and click on your Joined Event to submit your result. You will need to attach a screenshot of your virtual challenge, showing your distance, time and running date.
Q: Is there any designated route? Do I need to follow the physical Garmin Run Asia 2022 Series - Malaysia Marathon’s route?
A: No, you are not required to follow the designated Garmin Run Asia 2022 Series - Malaysia Marathon’s route. You may run from any location you choose, and at any time during the stipulated period.
Q: Is there a cut off time to complete my run?
A: There is no cut-off time for each distance category.
Q: Can I complete my run on a treadmill or indoors?
A: No, you will need to run outdoors. You are required to keep track of your run through a GPS running device or GPS running app, such as Garmin, Strava, Nike etc. Indoors tracker, treadmill and pedometer are not acceptable.
Q: Can I accumulate my running distance over multiple runs instead of completing my run in one attempt?
A: You are required to complete the 5KM and 10KM in one attempt. For 21KM and 42KM, you can accumulate your run with a minimum 10KM per result.
Q: If I could not finish my run, can you still send the entitlements to me?
A: You will not receive your finisher entitlement i.e., Dry Fit Event Tee, Finisher Medal, Race Bib & e-Certificate if you did not complete the race or send in your completed race results.
Race Entry Pack Collection
Q: What do I need to produce to collect my Race Pack?
A:
- A copy of your identification (both soft and hard copies are accepted)
- A copy of your confirmation slip (both soft and hard copies are accepted)
Q: When and where is the Race Entry Pack Collection?
A: The Race Entry Pack Collection is on 3 & 4 September 2022 at Event Hall 1, The Starling Mall, Petaling Jaya.
Q: When will I receive my race kit if I opt for delivery?
A: For physical runners, you will receive the race kit at least 1 week before event, for virtual runners it will be in October as we need to wait for the result submission first.

Q: Can I collect for my family or friends?
A: Yes, but you must have a copy of their IC (softcopy) and their REPC QR code – which will be given on a later date.
Q: I am an International Participant, and I will only be in Malaysia on the same week. Can I collect my race kits during event day.
A: Unfortunately, there will be strictly no collection on the event day. Please email us at info@heyjom.com and we’ll arrange from there.
